His fleece has been described numerous times by top international judges as the most highly developed fleece they have ever seen. Val D Lsere and his successes make him one of the most successful alpacas in US history and judges have said he is the best they have seen. He has a very bright, extraordinarily dense, fine fleece with a merino-type crimp style. Val is a very compact male with a very strong heavy bone structure. All of these traits are being seen in his offspring. Red Granites Allison is an absolutely astrounding, true black Color Champion female. Her Dam, LBA's Abigal was one of our main Kirwin daughters that we could used for breeding dark colors. (please see Allison's pedigree for more in depth genetic details).She was a drop dead gorgeous medium fawn female that we picked up from Crescent Moon Ranch whileist being bred to a top black male at the time. She comes from a remarkable line of some of the grandest black and dark colored alpacas around in the US. Allison's Sire is no other than Crescent Moon's Thelonius who is owned by our friends at Crescent Moon Ranch; Debbie & Scott Miller. He was a respected 7X CHAMPION male, that included a Color Champion win at the Futurity 2011. He was infact a Valentino son, bringing the favorable "Bulldog" bone structure that is highly sought after. Red Granites Allison is an 8X CHAMPION by the end of her show career, never placing below a third and held her own at the AOA National Shows she atteneded. With winning Championships at two of the most prestigious shows in the country (Great Western Alpaca Show & Futurity) we are able to say she is one of our top black female EVER produced thus far. She has already oroduced a great wealth of Dark offspring. Her first daughter. Red Granites Abcde was a top show winner. Her second cria, Red Granites Alydar By Val D Lsere, Dark Rose Grey, is a four-time judges' choice winner and 12X Champion Grey male, winning the 2021 Futurity Male Judges' Choice award, becoming the first ever grey to win this award. Her third cria, Red Granites Alyeska is a true black Champion male, now owned by Eagle Eye Alpacas. We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Red Granite Ranch in the ownership of this spectacular male. (I know....we haven't done gray in years.) When it comes to this male right here though, he is simply one of a kind. You could not ask for more, the epitome of excellence and frankly, it doesn't matter what color he is: Red Granites Alydar By Val D Lsere.

There has never been a Grey Alpaca to stir up as much commotion as this one, and probably never will be. For all that have seen and judged this male, he has been represented as the IDEAL standard for grey fleece. The evenness of his fineness and the astounding density and uniformity that is found within his blanket is simply incomparable. It is a very advanced, high-frequency crimp style from skin to tip, rarely seen in his color group. This crimp style continues right down the leg and into his belly area, also running up through the neck all in a very uniform manner. Judges’ have described his fleece as “angel-like and delicate” with “superior uniformity of micron” and carrying the “dangerous combination of fineness and density”.

Alydar was shown at one of the highest level shows, Nationals, and took first place as a juvenile, yearling, 2-year-old, and mature male, he also did so at The Futurity, taking a first place as both a yearling and 2-year-old and then moved into the champion circle. He also won the 2021 Futurity Judges' Choice Male & 2023 AOA National Dark Male Supreme Champion trophy. Many juveniles place well the first year but the real test is if they can stand the same position or even better position the following years, and hold onto their exceptional traits. He has a total of 40 Championship banners, 10 Judges' Choice awards, a Supreme Championship, a Grand Champion, and Spirit of the Industry win to his name, not to mention he was named the #1 National High Point Huacaya Male in 2022 and #3 National High Point Huacaya Male in Fleece for 2023. He became the first gray to win the prestigious Futurity Judges’ Choice award and first grey to win a National Supreme Championship trophy, and also became the second gray alpaca to have won over 30 Championship banners. That is impressive. Nothing about him has wavered over the years.

Alydar comes from a generation after generation of champion alpacas. His lineage includes Herdsire of the Year winners: VAL D LSERE, MR SIZLIN ROSE, and MATRIX while also including top color producing sires: MATRIX ROSE, CONOPA, VALENTINO, THELONIUS, KIRWIN, CASANOVA, and SIZLIN HOT. Excellence in COLOR is in this males blood!

Alydar's production has been everything we hoped for and more. He has produced every color inducing Silver Greys, Rose Greys, True & Bay Blacks, Fawns, Browns, and Whites of all shades. And he is stamping CHAMPIONS!
